HOW TO: Create a Map of Key-Value Pairs

1. In the Transformer Grid, select the columns that contain the data that you want to convert to a map of key-value pairs:


Tip: You can hold down the Ctrl key (on Windows) or the Command key (on Mac) to select multiple columns.

2. Trifacta generates a series of suggested transforms based on your selection.

3. Select the suggestion card that contains the Nest transform, as shown in the following image:


By default, the Nest transform converts column names to keys and cell values to values.

4. Trifacta updates the Transformer Grid with a preview of the result of the Nest transform:



5. When you are satisfied with the transform, click Add to Script.
