PepsiCo to present at Strata + Hadoop World on using Trifacta to dramatically reduce time to insight
San Francisco, Calif. – September 22, 2015 – Trifacta, the leading data wrangling solution for exploratory analytics, today announced the release of Trifacta v3. This latest release establishes the requirements of enterprise-grade data governance for data wrangling. Trifacta v3 features an array of new User Experience enhancements designed to empower a broad continuum of users, from business analysts to data scientists, with the ability to productively wrangle data.

Trifacta v3 will be demoed live at the Strata + Hadoop World conference in New York from Tuesday, Sept. 29 through Thursday, Oct. 1. At the conference, Trifacta customer PepsiCo will present how it utilizes Trifacta to dramatically reduce the time required to deliver analytic insight to the business and contribute to the company’s bottom line, in the session “How Pepsi Wrangles the Diverse Data of Consumer Packaged Goods.”

Establishing Enterprise Data Governance for Data Wrangling
Trifacta v3 introduces collaborative, enterprise data governance and establishes the security, metadata and lineage, and operationalization requirements necessary for data wrangling environments on Hadoop.
Rather than implement a separate security framework, Trifacta’s latest release builds upon existing Hadoop security standards, including Kerberos. This allows IT departments to manage security within Trifacta and Hadoop in parallel, eliminating the need for a separate framework.
- Metadata and Lineage
With the integration of Cloudera Navigator, support for the Hive metastore and lineage visibility within Trifacta, v3 augments the transfer and visibility of metadata and lineage created through the wrangling process.
With added support for enterprise schedulers Chronos and Tidal, Trifacta v3 enables advanced operational transformation workflows created in Trifacta to run on specific schedules, according to the production requirements of organizational IT teams.

User Empowerment through Innovative User Experience
Historically, data wrangling – discovering, structuring, cleaning, enriching, validating and publishing data – has accounted for up to 80 percent of the analysis cycle and required highly technical individuals to perform manual coding or work with technical workflow mapping environments unfit for big, diverse data. The latest Trifacta release expands on the product’s intuitive visual interface with increasingly intelligent transform suggestions and greater connectivity to popular data sources.
In Trifacta v3, users can leverage a variety of different options when defining transformation logic to cater to different levels of technical ability. This release introduces Transformation Suggestion Cards, visual “card” representations of Trifacta’s intelligent transform suggestions, allowing a user to work in a framework that best fits their skill level.

The v3 release introduces Automated Multi-Step Transforms designed to identify each delimiter or markup element within a dataset and automatically parse them out upon dataset registration to further accelerate the wrangling process.
Trifacta v3 expands connectivity to popular enterprise data sources with added support for connecting to an array of data sources including, AWS S3, Excel files, Hive and more.
