Their area of responsibility addresses issues such as data quality, accessibility, usability, and security. Data stewards are the go-to-experts on data within a company, responsible for educating employees on data standards, sharing best practices, and ensuring that data resources are used consistently and properly. While “data steward” is sometimes a formal title, the responsibilities of a data steward can also be assumed on top of regular job duties.
