Data Quality

All Glossary Terms

Data quality is a measure of how well data meets the requirements of an organization for an intended purpose. High quality data that is accurate, formatted correctly, consistent, and easy to process is useful for analysis and machine learning. On the other hand, data that is incomplete, inconsistent, inaccurate, out of date, or duplicated can be difficult to analyze and cause stakeholders to lose confidence when making decisions. Since data quality issues are extremely common, most data must undergo data cleansing to raise its quality before it can be used to inform decisions or feed machine learning algorithms.
