We’re almost halfway through 2021 now! At Trifacta, we’ve been working hard this year to make data easier to work with so it can be usable and actionable, and reduce the amount of headaches data can cause. The last year and a half has probably caused you enough headaches already, and we want to make sure data doesn’t add anymore pain.
Below is a brief summary of some of the new features we’ve recently released in the Trifacta Data Engineering Cloud, as well as some pretty interesting things happening in our Community that you’ll definitely want to check out.
Trifacta Feature Highlights:
One of our most exciting new features is the launch of pre-built templates. We’ve introduced 16 templates that are readily discoverable, accessible, and re-usable. You can now easily learn how to use the product and on-board data quickly with common use cases such as removing duplicates, schema drift detection, sales analytics, and more. If you are a Trifacta user already, simply visit our Templates Gallery, download the template, and import the template into your workspace.
Connect to Google Sheets
If you’re anything like me, you have massive amounts of Google Spreadsheets you’re collaborating on with others. Well, we’ve got great news! You can now create connections to your Google Sheets instance from Trifacta. No more having to download the Google sheet to Excel on your desktop and loading it to Trifacta!

Connect to External S3 Buckets
Users now have the ability to connect to external S3 buckets where you have credentials to access. This will be as simple as connecting to any other data source in Trifacta. Simply create a new connection using the Access Key and Secret Key. Then you will be able to read and write to any S3 bucket!
Sharing and Collaboration
Users can now be notified via emails when a flow or a plan is shared with them. Collaboration becomes powerful when users can share work with others to facilitate peer reviews, co-develop flows, or enable other users to make copies of flows to leverage similar techniques. Also, notifications when you are not in the application enables faster return to the product and frictionless collaboration, leading to time savings.

June Virtual User Group with Bekkie Brown of Amway
Join our June Virtual User Group featuring Bekkie Brown of Amway who will discuss how to build a Trifacta Center of Excellence within an organization. Bekkie has led Amway’s Google Cloud Implementation while promoting self-service for their Analytics Community. At Amway, this is the first self-service initiative for transforming raw data into curated business-friendly tables that have been executed outside of IT.
Introducing Ideas on the Trifacta Community!
We have just introduced a new Ideas space on the Trifacta Community, where you can directly communicate with our product team and provide your ideas for how Trifacta can become even more useful for all of our customers. We’re super excited about this new community functionality, and hope you check it out!

Every month, we post a new use case to our Wrangle Challenges Community Group, to stretch your Trifacta skills and help you level up your wrangling abilities.
