Trifacta at Strata: PepsiCo, v3, metadata, visualization experts, droids, and… a crab?

Much of the Hadoop world is gathered this week at Strata + Hadoop World in New York; including, of course, the Trifacta team, who is anxious to show off the new release of our flagship data wrangling software, Trifacta v3.

The software takes both enterprise data governance and ease of use to entirely new levels in Hadoop, and it’s getting rave reviews from those who’ve had the chance to spend some time with the product. We look forward to seeing you at our booth #737, where team members like Wei Zheng, our vice president of products, as well Phil Vander Broek, our user experience manager, and Sean Ma, director of product management, will be demonstrating all of the great new capabilities featured in Trifacta v3.

Other Trifacta experts will be on hand answering questions and giving demos. And as an added attraction, we’ll be giving away to two lucky attendees a GoPro HERO4 Silver camera along with a BB-8, the breakout robotic star of the upcoming “The Force Awakens,” better-known as the new Star Wars movie due out in December. In addition to our fully-staffed, v3 enabled, and prize-equipped booth, Trifacta will also be participating in three fantastic presentations at Strata.

  • “How Pepsi wrangles the diverse data of consumer packaged goods” will feature Matthew Derda, a key member of Pepsi’s customer supply chain team, who’ll be talking about how his company specifically — and the consumer packaged goods industry generally — use data wrangling to make sense of the disparate information sent in by the scores or even hundreds of companies in their supplier networks.
  • “Big data at a crossroads: Time to go meta (on use)” is the title of the talk by Trifacta’s chief strategy officer, Joe Hellerstein, in which he’ll describe the need for metadata-on-use services in the big data context, and the reason why various constituencies in the community benefit from “going meta” in an open way.
  • “From profiling to analysis: Designing visualization tools for purpose” marks a much-anticipated joint appearance by Trifacta co-founder Jeffrey Heer and noted visualization guru Jock Mackinlay from Tableau. They’ll be discussing the process for designing data visualizations for distinct stages of the analysis process.

And one last thing… You’ll want to be sure to stop by our booth #737 on Wednesday, September 29th, between 3:30-4:30pm to learn about what Goneplax rhomboids has to do with Data Wrangling. Oh, and you’ll also have the chance to meet Trifacta’s co-founding triumvirate, Joe Hellerstein, Jeffrey Heer and Sean Kandel at this special event hosted at our booth.
