Breaking Bad Data at Strata San Jose

< Back to Blog

March 25, 2016

We’re headed to Strata + Hadoop World at the San Jose Convention Center!

Stop by our booth to see a demo of Trifacta Wrangler and learn more about data wrangling from the experts. We’ll be hosting a great number of giveaways, including gift cards from Starbucks, iTunes and Amazon, a series set of Breaking Bad, and an Apple TV. Since they were a hit in previous years, we’ve also decided to bring back our “Breaking Bad Data” t-shirts in limited quantity, so be sure to stop by booth #831 early to grab your size before we run out!

Trifacta will be presenting three sessions at Strata around topics that have generated buzz within the big data space, including metadata and immediacy:

  • Wrangling, Metadata, and Governance: Supervision VS. Adoption” will feature members from two of our major partners, Mohan Sadashiva from Waterline Data and Mark Donsky from Cloudera, alongside Trifacta VP of Products Wei Zheng. They will be presenting on how data wrangling solutions not only enable users to explore and prepare data in Hadoop for analysis, but also ensure that metadata is tracked to foster collaboration among users. When utilized correctly, metadata has the potential to boost productivity and solve administrative challenges of data lake governance.
  • Grounding Big Data: A Meta-Imperative” is about how metadata services as a critical missing piece of the open source ecosystem for big data, presented by UC Berkeley Professor and Trifacta co-founder Joe Hellerstein and UC Berkeley AMP Lab Software Engineer Vikram Sreekanti. They will present two use cases of reproducibility of genomics research and data-centric courseware using their vendor-neutral metadata services layer called Ground, developed in research at UC Berkeley.
  • Architecting Immediacy: The Design of a High Performance, Portable Wrangling Engine” will feature a new announcement, courtesy of Trifacta Software Engineer Seshadri Mahalingam and co-founder Joe Hellerstein. They will demonstrate how Trifacta Wrangler users are able to visualize and experiment with their data and receive immediate feedback.

In addition to these sessions, we are also providing an opportunity for one-on-one time with you and one of our data wrangling experts. To ask all of your burning questions related to big data, come see us at Strata.

We look forward to seeing you at Strata + Hadoop World!
