There are different paradigms about data being the new oil or data being the new software. However, the key is to make data usable, trustworthy, and valuable to empower intelligent business outcomes. Our goal at Trifacta is to help our customers make informed, data-driven decisions with consumable data through the discipline of data engineering. Trifacta’s Data Engineering Cloud is an open, intelligent, and self-service solution that delivers high-quality, transformed data for advanced insights and analytics.
In recent times, there has been a lot of talk about easy access to data, also referred to as data democratization. At Trifacta, we believe democratization of data needs to be ubiquitous and secure across any data source, destination, or application, without the hurdles of data silos and data duplication. A related aspect of data democratization is about data sharing to drive digital transformation. Gartner predicts that by 2023, organizations that promote data sharing will outperform their peers on most business value metrics. Gartner further elaborates that data sharing is no more an option, but a necessity to deliver economies of scale. Sharing and collaboration has been our DNA at Trifacta, since our inception. We continue to make significant strides in our endeavor towards collaborative data through the data engineering cloud.
As part of Trifacta’s efforts towards democratization of data and helping organizations get value from their data, we are proud to partner with Google Cloud in their mission to transform businesses, with data as the essential ingredient. “Data is the heart of business transformation”, said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, at the recent Google Data Summit. We are thrilled to be part of many of the innovative announcements at the summit towards better data analytics. With the unification of the data cloud, Dataprep by Trifacta is part of the Intelligent Data Fabric by Google, as illustrated in the architecture below.
At the Data Summit, Trifacta presented a session on how organizations can build an end-to-end automated analytics solution to process and analyze data using Google Cloud Dataprep by Trifacta and BigQuery. The session demonstrated the creation of an automated pipeline with no-code to capture, prepare, and load data, deliver visual analytics, and gain valuable insights. As part of the session, we reiterated our partnership with Google Cloud to build comprehensive technical guides that are available in the Google Cloud library of Smart Analytics Design Patterns to implement end-to-end data-driven solutions quickly and easily.
With the newly announced Dataplex service, we are excited to partner with Google to make usable, high-quality data securely accessible. Together with Trifacta’s open and intelligent data engineering cloud, you can access data securely, ensure high-quality data, and leverage an integrated experience for advanced analytics. “We are partnering with industry leaders such as …Trifacta to build an open platform to power analytics at scale”, said Google as part of the announcement.
Earlier in this blog post, we talked about data sharing being an important aspect of driving data transformation. In light of this, we are happy to partner with Google Cloud on their announcement of Analytics Hub, a fully managed service that allows you to efficiently and securely create data-sharing ecosystems with full governance. We believe Dataprep by Trifacta plays a big role in the Analytics Hub ecosystem to ensure that the data is trustworthy and of high-quality. The different capabilities of Dataprep such as automatic data assessment, data profiling, and data remediation with ML-driven suggestions add significant value to the overall solution. This interactive demonstration uses BigQuery and Dataprep to demonstrate the value of creating and sharing data with public datasets. With Analytics Hub, you can extend the value of data sharing by publishing it into an Exchange and making it available to subscribers.
Google also announced Dataflow Prime, a new platform built on Dataflow to bring unparalleled resource utilization to big data processing. Trifacta’s partnership with Google originated with Dataprep to prepare and transform data leveraging the scalability of Dataflow (and now BigQuery) to process structured or unstructured datasets of any size. Dataprep is the primary user interface for Dataflow for data transformation with batch processing. With Dataflow Prime, we believe we can extend the value of Dataprep with additional benefits towards resource utilization and distributed diagnostics.
As the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding. These products come to life when customers use and talk about them. The value of these innovations is validated by real-life examples from the joint customers of Trifacta and Google Cloud, and a subset of these customers were featured during the Cloud Data Summit. Enterprises such as The Home Depot, Equifax, Loblaw, Rackspace, and KeyBank have been scaling their data transformation journeys and we are privileged to be part of this journey along with them.
We believe we have just started. As we move forward with the Data Engineering Cloud, we are looking forward to strengthening our partnership with Google Cloud and continue to bring innovative solutions for our customers. Get started with Dataprep by Trifacta for free today.
